The experience
Celebrate your union in a traditional Andean ceremony in the beautiful natural setting of Piuray Lagoon, near the town of Chinchero. The local community will welcome you and take part in a ceremony full of ancestral meaning and blessings for the couple's happiness and prosperity.
General itinerary:
- 8:00 a.m.: pickup at the hotel and transfer to the ceremony site, 40 minutes from Cusco. On arrival the couple is welcomed by the Piuray community and dressed in traditional wedding attire.
- 9:00 a.m.: the wedding ceremony begins with an Andean priest. Champagne is served and a wedding cake is presented to the couple.
- 10:00 a.m.: "Despacho" ceremony, a payment to Mother Earth, to bless the union.
- 10:40 a.m.: coca leaf reading for the bride and groom, performed by an Andean shaman.
- 11:00 a.m.: traditional community music and dances in honor of the couple.
- 11:30 a.m.: the ceremony ends and the couple returns to the hotel.
