The experience
The Temazcal is an ancestral ceremony of Mesoamerican origin, adapted by Andean Wings Valley to give you an experience of physical, mental and spiritual healing in a natural, sacred setting. Inspired by the Inipi Ceremony of the Lakota Dakota tradition of North America, it takes place in a closed structure similar to a sauna, where steam generated by hot stones known as "abuelitos" and aromatic herbs purify body and mind.
More than a purification ritual, the Temazcal symbolizes physical, emotional and spiritual rebirth, helping integrate the processes of life. In this experience the Sun represents the father who sows the seed, while the Pachamama is the mother who embraces it, starting the cycle of transformation.
The four directions
This sacred ritual is guided by the four directions, each associated with an essential element: fire, air, water and earth. Through this journey we connect with our essence, honor nature and make way for a process of growth, healing and evolution.
Preparation: arrive hydrated and fasting, or having eaten only a light meal at least 2 hours before the session. Wear light, comfortable clothing and bring a swimsuit for the ceremony. Avoid alcohol or heavy meals before the Temazcal.
