The experience
Experience the Huatia, an ancient Andean cooking technique where food is slow-cooked in handmade earth ovens. It is a process that combines tradition with the pure flavor of the earth.
The Huatia is cooked in an earth oven built on site, using heated clods of earth mainly to roast tubers.
Includes:
- Salad buffet.
- Tubers: 3 types of potato depending on the season, sweet potato and oca.
- Sauces: uchucuta, ocopa, ají amarillo, homemade chili, chimichurri, guacamole.
- Participation in building the oven and the cooking (optional, for the full 4-hour experience).
- Tasting of the Huatia with traditional sides.
- Hot drinks station, water and one refreshing non-alcoholic drink.
Notes:
- Requires booking at least 24 hours in advance.
- Season: the Huatia is not held during the rainy season. The best time is between May and September; in the rainy season, the oven takes over.
- Additional services: possible to combine with the 5 Fires experience or include in your stay.
